Kin started with a conversation.
A friend was dealing with debilitating cramps. I gave her research-backed advice — yes, I’ve researched periods — and she joked that I should just track her cycle since I was so involved.
I realised I wanted to do exactly that. Not just for her. For all of them.
Then I realised no app was built for that.
So I built one.
The founder
Emmanuel A. Sam
Founder, Kin
Emmanuel studied Microbiology and Medical Laboratory Science — which means the science behind Kin isn't outsourced. He understands the biology of the menstrual cycle not just as a founder, but as someone with the academic foundation to build around it responsibly.
Kin was not built because someone saw a market gap on a spreadsheet. It was built because Emmanuel felt a human gap in a real conversation — and had the scientific background to do something about it.
What we believe
Your health data belongs to you. Not to advertisers. Not to us.
The people who love you deserve the tools to show up — when you choose to let them.
Health technology built for Africa should be built by people who understand Africa.
We're early. We're real. We're building.
Kin launched in beta in 2026, validated by 280 people who told us exactly what they needed before we wrote a single line of code. We're onboarding our first users now. October 2026 brings the full experience.
If you're a user — welcome. If you're an investor or partner — reach out.
